Are you fasting and in prayer? I am, at least so far. Three days isn't the problem, it's the totality of the fast that will try my reliance on the Lord - which, come to think of it, is another issue altogether, isn't it! Anyway... today's Day One. Today (March 19, 2008), tomorrow and Friday: THE CRY, uniting in intercessory prayer for Israel's destiny, as Queen Esther did centuries ago. (Esther 4:16--). James Goll calls for it in his book PRAYING FOR ISRAEL'S DESTINY, and there's no denying the urgency of Israel's need for their Messiah, or of my own longing to see Him. But the GREATEST event of all time is the one we commemorate on Friday, 'Good' Friday; and that can only be fully appreciated HERE...
... or perhaps here. Never forget, dear hearts, how much you are loved! "WHEN my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me." (Psalm 27:10) "Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22) Hallelujah, and amen!

CHRIST LIVES! - A Word from Dr. Trudy Veerman
Dear Friend in
Christ,
Peace be unto you through
Christ, who dwells in you.
I stood still at the foot
of the cross and meditated upon something I cannot comprehend; that God came
down and looked upon His creation "mankind" and was sorry that He had created
them, but still He did not destroy us.
This alone makes me wonder,
how come I'm still here? What God is this that He did not destroy us all
together, but instead sacrificed His Son, Jesus Christ?
Another question... were we
really worth it that Jesus Christ, who was also God, lowered Himself and allowed
Himself to be nailed (by His creation) to the cross to die, in
order to rescue mankind?
He, Who was at the
Beginning with God and through Whom we have been made. Nothing was made without
Him.
Think about it...
How come so many have
become lukewarm and think more about what this world has to offer them? This
life is but short, and after death there is a lasting life:
ETERNITY!
Mankind has taken His
Sacrifice of Redemption for granted, they don't believe it, or even
blaspheme this. How anyone in his right mind refuses to surrender his life
to Christ, or even rejects this Offer is beyond my comprehension. Although we
know that the such have no love for the Truth.
We daily celebrate His death and resurrection, not just once per year.
For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; (Acts 17:28a)

Have you ever fully appreciated that YOU who believe in Jesus Christ - YOU, the Body of Christ, His Church - are the Bride of Christ... that He DIED to pay the bridal price (dowry), being willing to pay such a high price because He loves you so much?... that, in keeping with the Jewish wedding traditions of His time on earth (not because He's constrained by time but because it was necessary that those around Him could appreciate the symbolism of His speech and actions), He HAS gone to prepare a house FOR YOU, yourself, your very own self, His Bride, and He IS coming back to sweep you into His arms and take you there, the minute His Father gives His approval of the preparations?
Have you ever fully appreciated that THE MINUTE HE DIED, that bridal price (dowry) had been paid in full, and you were HIS - sheltered in His love, covered by His grace, sanctified by His sacrifice, and provided for from His storehouse, even before you were born? These gifts are already yours: you have but to love and trust Him, honour and adore Him, cleanse and purify your heart and seek and obey His will in all things, and He will draw near to you.
Dear ones, even the breaking of bread and drinking of wine at the Last Supper was part of the betrothal customs of His day. Once the bridal price had been agreed upon, the Bride retired to another room and shut the door. The Bridegroom went to the door and knocked ("Behold, I stand at the door and knock;..." Rev. 3:20a), and if the Bride was willing to marry Him, she opened the door a shade and He went in and ate and drank with her. ("...if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me." Rev. 3:20b) From that moment, they were formally engaged to each other.
