Guest Editorial by Rudy Brinkman of Christpages.net:
ANGELS WATCHING OVER YOU
This might not be new to all of you, but it sure was for me. I urge you to read this article in full.
Some time ago there was an article in a computer magazine in Holland,
about the so called 'Digital Angel', a chip implanted into the human
body to monitor people. According to the article, it was especially
meant for criminals and to protect our children. The computer
magazine linked to a company website that didn't seem to offer any
information about this new invention. I know this computer magazine
is a serious magazine and wanted to find out what was going on. So, I
started digging. Doing so, I found some shocking information!
First of all, I'd like to quote the official text as it was found at
the United States Patent office:
"The system employs triggerable radio beacon transmitter means
designed to be implanted beneath the skin of an individual.
Biological monitoring in the device will provide means for rapidly
dispatching help in the event of a detectable medical emergency,
such as a heart attack. A unique sensation-feedback feature allows
the user to control and trigger the device with certainty,
resulting in a more reliable, easily maintained system. The device
is hermetically sealed in a biologically inert container. The
device operates normally in a dormant state, and can be externally
triggered to transmit the homing beacon. There are numerous
possible embodiments of the trigger mechanism. In some embodiments
of the trigger mechanism, the device is designed to be remotely
triggered. Such a feature is desirable if the device is implanted
in a small child who cannot be relied upon to trigger the device.
Remote triggering may also be desirable in instances when an
individual may be unconscious." (United States Patent 5,629,678)
Now, after doing some more research at the website of the company
that owns the patent, Applied Digital Solutions, I found an old
press release at their site. In this article I read that Applied
Digital Solutions had bought the company that invented this implant
for over US$ 130,000,000. Now why would a company ever pay such an
amount of money for an invention like this?
Finally -- because of the press release and some creative thinking, I
found the site created by the company that invented the 'Digital
Angel'. On that site I found the following information:
"Although still in the early developmental stage, we believe
Digital Angel could have an array of beneficial potential
applications: provide a tamper-proof means of locating and
identifying individuals for e-business and e-commerce security;
locate individuals, including children, who are lost or who have
been abducted; monitor the medical conditions of at-risk patients;
track and locate military, diplomatic and other essential
government personnel; determine the location or the authenticity
of valuable property; track the whereabouts of wilderness sports
enthusiasts (mountain climbers, hikers, skiers, etc.). "
Why is this so important? Why does a company like Applied Digital
Solutions pay so much money for this invention?
If we examine the above information carefully, we find that the
'Digital Angel' is intended for:
- locating people: children, sportsmen, government officials, etc.;
- monitoring the conditions of patients;
- identifying individuals (for e-business and e-commerce security)
In other words: using this implant makes it possible to track down
people, all over the world, and to CONTROL them! To do so, the
implant can contact 'base' via the GPS-system (see the links provided
below). It can identify people, contact their bank and make
money transactions possible (or not) and so on...
After reading all the details I remembered something else. It was
about four years ago that a teacher told me his dog had an implant in
case he was taking the dog outside the country. The chip contained
information about the dog: name, a number and medical information
about the dog. The technique has evolved since then it seems. I
remember that I speculated about this with some others: "Could this
eventually result in a chip implanted in the human body to monitor
humans?". We all agreed: yes, it could. And now it has... !
If we open our Bibles and start reading at Revelations 13:16 we find
the following:
"And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the
poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark
on their right hand, or upon their forehead; and that no man
should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark,
[even] the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is
wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of
the beast; for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six
hundred and sixty and six.
I'm not saying that the 'Digital Angel' is the tool that the beast
from the earth will be using. But I do believe it will be an implant
like this that he will be using.
The Lord has warned us almost 2,000 years ago of things like this.
It sounds so logical, protect our children or loved ones who have a
bad medical condition. Make sure that financial transactions cannot
be tampered with.. That's the official reason. But the end will be
that we cannot buy or sell, cannot move one step, without 'Big
Brother' knowing it.
I personally believe that we, as Christians, will go through times of
tribulation. That we will face difficulties. That perhaps we'll need
to choose one day very soon: "buy food for your children by accepting
an implant or die". Are we ready for this day? Don't believe the
stories told by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins or people like Hal
Lindsey. Yes, the Left Behind series are great novels, but far beyond
the Biblical truth (the fact alone that they've positioned Armageddon
before the rapture -- it should be a thousand years later!). The Lord
Jesus NEVER promised the believers that they'd be "taken up to
heaven" BEFORE the tribulations start.
Matt. 24:9-13 shows it so clear: "Then shall they deliver you up unto
tribulation , and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the
nations for my name's sake. And then shall many stumble, and shall
deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. And many false
prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. And because
iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.
But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved."
And in 2 Thess. 2:1-5 Paul teaches: "Now we beseech you, brethren,
touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering
together unto him; to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from
your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by
epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand;
let no man beguile you in any wise: for [it will not be,] except the
falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of
perdition, he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is
called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of
God, setting himself forth as God. Remember ye not, that, when I was
yet with you, I told you these things?"
The Lord never ever promised a pre-tribulation rapture. I know, it's
a popular teaching. I've believed this teaching for many years. But
finally some years ago the Lord opened up my eyes and showed me: yes,
there WILL be tribulation. Yes, the church WILL go through them.
How come we as western Christians think we will not go through
tribulations while our brothers and sisters in China, Russia, many
Muslim states and African countries have already suffered so much?
What in the world makes us believe that we can live our live of
luxury, wealth and overweight and simply go straight to heaven to
avoid difficulties or persecution? Without ever cleaning up the sin
in our lives? Without ever having lived a HOLY life dedicated to
Christ? I don't believe it. NOT A WORD!
So, is there no hope then? Of course there is! Paul writes (Titus
2:11-14) "For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to
all men, instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and
worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in
this present world; looking for the blessed hope and appearing of
the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave
himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify
unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works."
Don't I believe in the rapture teaching at all? I most certainly
believe there will be a rapture! The Bible promises it very clearly
(see, for example, 1 Thes. 15-18). But I believe that the
pre-tribulation rapture teaching gives a wrong idea about the timing
of the rapture and the people promoting it are giving Christians
FALSE HOPE.
In my opinion the rapture will be the moment as described in Rev. 14,
verses 14-16. Compare it with the verses following and see that there
are two different harvests. Rev. 3:10 is a promise, it doesn't say
WHEN it will happen. And it most certainly doesn't state that
Christians will not go through the tribulation(s).
We have a blessed hope! But we should live "soberly and righteously
and godly"! Are we doing so? Then Christ shall save us, and deliver
us OUT of the hour of TRIAL. That's the only thing that has been
promised to us by the Lord (Rev. 3:10) concerning the tribulation
period.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should
overtake you as a thief: for ye are all sons of light, and sons of
the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness; so then let us
not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.
