Well, I'm obviously not going to be allowed to be caught napping THIS month, am I? The Lord just sent me this magnificent message courtesy of His servant Jim Magwood, and told me to relay it to you right this minute - so here I am, at 2:15 in the morning when I have to be out of here by 8 a.m. and haven't slept much for several days....

COMPLETE TRUST
December 1, 2000
Dear friends,
Pick up your Bible and read Psalm 146. I'm going to print it here in this
letter for those who may not have a Bible with them, because it is such a
beautiful picture of how to live in today's troubled world. As you read the
Psalm, picture it in it's five main sections the first of simple praise to a
magnificent God; the second, a warning about where we often put our trust
(especially in today's world); the third, a listing of all the LORD has done
for mankind; another warning; and the end, a statement of how God will reign
forever, and another simple praise to him.
PSALM 146
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I
have my being.
Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no
help. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; in that very day his plans
perish.
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD
his God, Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; Who
keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food
to the hungry.
The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners. The LORD opens the eyes of the
blind. The LORD raises those who are bowed down. The LORD loves the
righteous. The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless
and widow.
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.
The LORD shall reign forever -- Your God, O Zion -- to all generations.
Praise the LORD!
Praise the Lord! At the beginning and at the end -- just as we should live
our lives daily. Praise him at the start of the day, and when the day is
over. Praise him in everything and through everything. If we would take
this simple action to heart, everything around us would melt in comparison to
the closeness we would have with him.
How many times these days do we find ourselves trusting in mankind to provide
for us -- to take care of us? We trust the government; we trust the king or
president; we trust the public service organizations; we trust friends and
family; we trust our own strength and courage. Yet, how many times are we
failed, sometimes in terrible degrees, by those people or things in which we
have placed our trust. The LORD says, simply, don't trust in the things of
this earth. They will fail us. We will even fail ourselves.
HOWEVER - Consider all that God has done. And continues to do. He, alone,
created everything, and keeps the entire creation functioning properly. He
is the only unchanging person or thing there is -- the only real truth you
can ever hold onto. He is the only one who can bring real justice, cause the
food to grow, free us of our chains, heal sickness, and lift us out of the
sin and oppression which crush us. He, alone, can truly love us, watch over
us, and relieve our pain and suffering.
He, alone, is the one who will eventually judge all the things which have
been done, and he, alone, will give glory to the righteous and bring an end
to all the plans of those who have refused to bow their knee to a Holy God.
He, alone, will be the one who lives on forever with truth and majesty --
and, beloved, WE who love him will live with him.
Yes! In complete trust, praise ye the LORD!
