AWAKENING AT LAST!
God is "I AM"; He is eternal, He never changes, He is LOVE.
Jesus is EMMANUEL - God *with* us.
Jesus came that we might have eternal life... life more abundantly...
God is not confined by time. God is Spirit, and we must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Jesus is "The Way, the Truth and the Life." All of this we know, because it is recorded in the Word of God; and as John tells us (John 1:1), "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us" (Jesus, God with us, the bread of life, the way, the truth and the life). Are you seeing where this is going?
Let the Word of God dwell in you richly. I am the Bread of Life; whoever eats of this bread.. This is my body; eat... EAT HIS WORD TO NOURISH YOUR SPIRIT, and to draw Him into your very being. "My Father and I will come in and eat with him." The Holy Spirit already indwells you. While you are partaking of His Word, the Spirit is guiding you into all knowledge and all truth - and the Father and the Son are indwelling you as well!!! You become part of the Body of Christ as you accept the nourishment He provides... and at that time you can honestly say, "It is no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me."
So why the great emphasis and prolonged lessons on hypocrisy earlier this year? Because it is only as I live 24/7 in LOVE that I can truly say I am His. Anything less than non-stop love of God and my fellow man is hypocrisy and self-deception. And we have a magnificent picture of LOVE in 1 Corinthians 13. Love vaunteth itself not up, is not puffed up. (So much for the nose-in-the-air holier-than-thou types, huh?) Love suffereth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Love doesn't judge (there goes another favourite pastime!); seeketh not its own (OOPS! So much for ambition!!)... and on and on, until the discerning reader is a puddle of humiliation on the floor, devastated by the Word which is indeed a double-edged sword.
Our society and organized religion put a great deal of emphasis on the teaching that you can not serve God and Mammon, which is frequently translated as Money....
but it is not so much the religion/commercialism split that we need to beware of, but the nibbling away at the edges of our Love. If we are to be children of the Father, we must not only profess love but LIVE it. If the Word of God dwells in us richly, if we are led by the Spirit of God always, if we do as we have seen Jesus do throughout Scripture - we *will* have eternal life right here on earth, because we will live every single minute in His Presence. We *will* be a part of the Body of Christ because we will be, as He was, is and evermore shall be, LOVE. And we will be strengthened, nourished, nurtured and matured as Love becomes the only, only, only Force in the world that holds any interest for us.
I pray that these few words may help you too to appreciate more fully the wonderful revelation He gave us by His selfless giving of Himself for others.
It is Easter once again, dear friends. Let us rejoice in the Lord continually, praising Him, letting Him dwell in us and use us to reach others with His Love flowing unceasingly through us. "And I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men to Me."
HALLELUJAH!!! CHRIST IS RISEN!!! CHRIST IS KING!!!

THE WORD OF GOD : A CONTINUING AWAKENING
I used to think the Word of God was (is) the Bible; but as part of this Patmos experience the Lord is leading me to see that His Word is NOT a "stagnant" past decree, but an on-going, moment-by-moment revelation through the Spirit of His Will for my life. He is still "I AM" and always will be. That "still small Voice" of the Holy Spirit is as much His Word as the written Word or the Word-made-flesh, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." WE *****MUST***** keep ourselves in constant openness to the Words of the Holy Spirit of God if we would "let the Word of God dwell in (us) richly." It isn't just a matter of memorizing Bible passages (although for many years I thought that is *exactly* what it was all about)...
it is training ourselves to listen intently within ourselves for the inner leading of the Spirit, telling us, "this is the way; walk ye in it."
If we can so train ourselves - or more accurately, allow ourselves to be trained by Him, for He of course is faithful and the Spirit will "guide (us) into all knowledge" - He will fulfil His Word in and through us, and we will be truly part of His Body.
How can there be a Body and it have no ongoing communication with the Head, which is Christ? Yet we so often deny the very existence of the Spirit Who provides this ever-present communication, and we allow ourselves to let His Voice be drowned out by the ceaseless pounding racket of our environment of choice. SHAME ON US!
Oh most High God, have mercy on our ignorance and unbelief, our prideful seeking of our own advantage, and our scant and seldom sharing of Your Love with those around us. Forgive us, Father, for we know not what we do. Help us to seek Thy glory and to spread Thy light, today and always, in the Spirit of Thy Son. Amen.
Love to you all, and grace, and Truth...

A POW's Story

"But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much
patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, in stripes, in
IMPRISONMENTS, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; by
purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by
sincere love, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of
righteousness on the right hand and on the left, by honor and dishonor, by
evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; as unknown, and yet
well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;
as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having
nothing, and yet possessing all things."
- II Corinthians 6:4-10.
E.L. Fowler was born and grew up on a farm at Sweetwater, Oklahoma. He was
drafted into the Armed Forces in October of 1943 at the age of 18. He was a
Browning Automatic Rifleman with the 29th Division on Omaha Beach during WW
II. Once the beach was cleared they fought across the "hedgerows" of
Normandy. EL's platoon was the scout platoon for the company and this meant
they were to search out and find where the enemy was hiding.
EL tells his story: We were attached to General Patton's 3rd Armor
Division. The five tanks we were supporting got too far ahead of our front
lines and were knocked out. Only 50 left in our company some wounded
including myself, and the German Panzer Tank Division cut us off from our
troops--we were "Prisoners of War" until after the end of the war (He was
captured 20 KM. South St Lo (Percy) Normandy France on July 31, 1944. He
was liberated on May 20, 1945.)
As "Prisoners of War" we were moved to East Germany and into Poland. There
we dug air raid shelters and water lines with picks and shovels and then
when the snow began to fly it was to the railroads to shovel snow off the
railroad tracks. This was the worst winter in 40 years as far as being cold
and the depth of the snow. Our clothing had begun to wear thin and the soles
of our shoes were worn out and many of us had frost bite. We lived on less
than 700 calories a day of watery soup, we ate it slowly savoring each bite
so as to make it last longer, making it seem more than it actually was. We
were infested with lice; they fed on every part of the body. Dysentery was
the order of the day along with sores breaking out on the feet and legs.
As the war wound down in Europe we were marched into Czechoslovakia and
there the Russian Army liberated us. After the war was officially over, we
were still dodging bullets and bombs as result of SS Troopers still holding
out in pockets of resistance. We stayed in a vacated Nazi's apartment until
time for us to get on top of boxcars and ride out to the American lines.
When imprisonment occurs with the terrible things happening around you, you
put your mind into another world, you design, you build, make plans, in your
mind, trying to keep it as far removed from the circumstances around you,
trying to forget the surroundings or the environment you are in. Above all
you talk to God a lot!
We must never forget that the Lord Jesus Christ is the one who owns life.
He is the one who created, and He is the one who sustains. He is the one
that is coming again, and He owns our lives, and we must recognize His
ownership. There is an old saying, that the only thing required for evil to
prevail is for good men and women to do nothing. To paraphrase another
verity, IF YOU DO NOT STAND AGAINST EVIL, YOU STAND FOR IT; you are either
with Him, or you are against Him. He must be first in our lives (Matthew
6:33), and I believe second will come our families. It is my firm belief,
that family had a lot to do with my coming back to relate to you this story,
as I know there were a lot of prayers to God by my wife, parents, and
family.
(E. L. Fowler received for his service among other medals the Purple Heart
and Bronze Star. He is retired rural mail carrier and farmer and has served
as the national chaplain of the Rural Mail Carrier's Association. He has
been an avid ham radio operator for many years. EL still lives on the farm
at Sweetwater, Oklahoma and is an active member of the First Baptist Church
of Sweetwater. You may contact him at w5cml@logixonline.net)

OHzone UPdates...
* Many thanks to Mid of Mid's Point for her beautiful award! Visit her home on the web at http://midspoint.aviqa.com to be blessed by her many talents. God bless you, Sis! Keep up your wonderful work for our Lord. :-)
* Our Lord is once again moving us on to a new location of service. We don't know yet exactly what awaits us, but we are trusting Him to open the necessary doors. The job I thought was solidly mine has evaporated now that our home and store are up for sale; the store we *thought* He had set aside specifically for us has had to be let go... but we KNOW that "all things work together for good to them that are the called according to His purpose", so we are continuing to walk in trust. It is looking as if our new home will be among friends we have yet to meet, far from our families, perhaps speaking a language we know but little of and learning a culture that is strange to us. What a joy, to have such a wonderful opportunity to grow in His service at this stage of our lives! Thank You, Jesus. May our gracious Father be glorified through our future walk, more and more each day; and may many, many lives be turned to Him through our obedience.
