I believe in God, our wonderful loving omnipotent omniscient Creator and Father;
and in His Son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah:
* that He is fully God and fully Man and Who was born of a virgin and lived among men to teach them how to live a life acceptable unto His Father, God;
* that He died on the cross;
* that His blood cleanses from sin all of us who believe in Him and follow Him as Lord;
* that He rose from the dead on the third day and appeared to upwards of 500 people after His resurrection
over a period of some forty days;
* that He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God as our Intercessor and friend;
* that He is the only "way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through" Him (John 14:6); and
* that He WILL return in glory in the very near future;
and in the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, sent by Christ to guide, direct, empower, instruct and indwell us as born-again believers. Praise the Lord!!!
And I believe the Bible is God's inerrant Word, and that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16).
More than that, I know for a fact that God's promises as contained in His Word are sure and true, and may be claimed today if we will but TRUST HIM and obey His commands. - and that the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD will indeed guide and direct us in our daily lives, if we will surrender our plans in favour of His for our life. Read all about God's 24/7 faithfulness in our story: ARCHIE, ARCH, ANGEL. :-) And now I know, too, how closely He walks beside us as we mourn. Walk with me Down Memory Lane and perhaps gather a few insights into the grief process, and how to comfort those who mourn. --D.E.H.
