A LONG TIME AGO

A long time ago in a bed of straw
A Child was born to save us all.
His name was Jesus, God's dear Son
And we should follow this holy One.
He died yet lived, Victor of the grave,
And He is our Master with power to save!
Nailed on a cross in disgrace and shame,
He gave it glory, praise His name!
He did all this for our salvation:
To save us from sin and degradation.
What compassion this was, oh, what love
To suffer such pain while His glory's above!
But He's back there now at God's right hand
Pleading with us to make our stand.
So stretch forth thy hand and heed His call.
Give Him your troubles, your worries, your all.
Trust Him and He'll pardon your sin:
Just open your heart and let Jesus come in.
Accept Him as Saviour, let Him rule your life.
Draw nearer to Jesus through good times or strife.
He'll never desert you, He'll always be there,
So pray about everything and never despair.
With open arms He said it best—
"Come unto Me...I will give you rest."
