At this hour in history, the
church-once-militant has become better known as the
church-now-impotent!
May I proclaim
that the world is not looking for another definition of the gospel, though it
would seem so as our nation sinks further in degradation under the current
hierarchy in Washington.
No, indeed, what the world is hungry for is
a demonstration of the gospel!
Folks said the disciples were drunk when they preached
the Word that could be understood - and they were! Drunk on the
Holy Ghost! It is high time we took another sip and headed forward!
The war in Iraq, 9-1-1, daily death shouted
from the TV sets - such have disturbed everything - except the
church!
The church sits idly by and watches as hell
fills up.
Where are the men of spiritual
integrity? Where are those men who will stand and say "Enough"?
Where are the men who will not only proclaim that satan has taken his last
stand, but who will go forth with Bible in hand and fire in the belly to be
a real living witness of the living God?
The time is too far gone for another
denomination to be born. Today, I believe God would have His individual
Elijahs rise up for the last great offensive against the godlessness which
marches unscathed across our landscape!
Years ago, this minister placed
a huge sign outside his church which read, "This church will either have a
revival or a funeral!" (not my original idea, but noteworthy
nonetheless).
Was I a pastor gone mad?
Yes!
Yes! I was angry at the futility of
Wednesday night prayer meetings with 5-6 people when our church roles were over
300! I was angry at the lack of people who would show up for visitation
times!
Righteous indignation? No! Just plain
anger. At satan, at the times, at the pathetic apathy of God's
people.
It need not be that way today! Stand up.
Forget doctrine. Lord knows, we have had a belly full of
that, enough to last a lifetime. The world is not impressed with our
shenanigans, bickering over who should dunk whom, or whether or not we speak in
tongues.
The lost do not care! They want us to simply stand
up and boldly proclaim the living Christ without all the dialogue and diatribe
and diadem and dual faces!
The lost need Jesus. They need to see we who hold
the banner of our risen Lord stand tall and say to them, "God indeed loves
you. His Son proved it! To reject Him is a mistake which will cost
you an eternity of suffering. Come now while there is time!"
And then, when the soothsayers come (and they will)
shout them down because hell does await and we have no time to waste on
lies!
Demonstrate the gospel! Preach! Minister! Love!
Declare! Proclaim! Shout, if you must - it has NOT gone out of "style"!
Listen - "The bridge is out ahead, world. Turn
back, turn back!"
To Jesus.
