TRIBUTE TO A HOMELESS VETERAN

Dear Homeless Veteran,
You walked by sight and not by faith.
You trusted we'd be there for you
when you returned.
You believed you were taking care of a cause
that would help the world.
We took you for granted.
We let you down.
By our indifferent ways, by our quests for heroes
in movies not military by our preference for
fantasy
not your
reality.
We apologize.
We can never make it up.
But we can
make a difference.
Reach out
Homeless Vet,
talk to us,
let us help.
We won't stop
until we reach the goal
of one home
for each vet.
Somehow, some way..
not by power
not by might
but by the Spirit
says the Lord..
