CLOUD
![]()
The unexpected cloud formed in the sky
as the man walked through the desert
casting just enough shade
to prevent his falling
All day long it formed a barrier
between the sun
and the man
When night came
the man thanked God
that He should send one of His many clouds
to someone who needed it
As it darkened
the man watched the cloud disappear
thankful of how it had affected his life
When he awoke the next morning
he fully expected the cloud to be gone
but as he looked up
it was still there
All day long he walked
All day long the cloud protected
When he felt his body crying out in thirst
he felt the first pattering drops of rain
falling from the cloud
meeting his wants and needs
All through his journey in the desert
the cloud stayed
Though at night he could not see it
the cloud was there
When he reached the end of his travels
he fell to his knees
for he had made a journey
one that would have been impossible to make
if that cloud had not supplied what it had
And as I stood up
I saw my cloud descend
and it took your form
and your shadow fell on me
once again
and I felt your fingers touch my hand
then your arms wrap around me
as I thanked God
He had sent you.
